  • Selecting a reel, advice needed please

Hi there, I was selecting a flyfishing reel for a friend of mine. He is just a beginner in fly fishing, but enjoys it a lot, that's why I selected this kind of present. He just started buying flyfishing gear for himself, so taking into account his birthday that's coming, I decided to find a nice reel and present to him. Based on my 1-hour research that included video reviews, reviews on Amazon and some reading through forum posts, people seem to recommend Okuma or Wright and McGill a lot (well, that's within my $60-70 budget haha). I was wondering, whether you folks can tell me something about these two? Which one would you select if you were me?
Wright & McGill 667593 Dragon Fly Reel on Amazon
    Okuma SLV 8/9 Fly Reel - $50
Any ideas or comments on these?

Hi FG, welcome to the forum.

What type of fishing will your friend be doing? That will help with the answers.

The Okumas have always been good value for money.

    TT.
