  • Experience the Teifi for FREE this June!

At some 75 miles long the River Teifi in West Wales is one of the longest rivers that starts and ends in Wales. It starts its course in the Cambrian Mountains and empties into the sea near Cardigan on the west coast. It is renowned for its salmon, sea trout and trout fishing, offering some of the finest and best value fishing in Wales. Indeed, take the 2011 season, for example, when the river produced 2,949 sea trout to rod and line compared to that of the neighbouring Towy at 2,291.

Llandysul Angling Association - www.fishing-in-wales.com – has access to 30 miles of the river with fishing costing as little as £10 for a day ticket! Indeed, a full season ticket provides fantastic value at £155 or a mere £2 for schoolchildren up to 16 years old. Combine that with the quality of the fishing, the beautiful surroundings (coined the Queen of Welsh Rivers) and the lack of fishing pressure due to the amount of water at your disposal and it’s easy to see how you get value for money.

Think there’s a catch? Well yes, there is. Sea trout, salmon, trout and even the occasional grayling. However, if you think it’s cheap because the quality of the water or fishing is poor then why not come and experience it all for free!

On Saturday 7th June 2014 Llandysul Angling Association will open its doors to new and prospective members in the form of a welcome day. The day is an annual event and will commence at 11:00 in the Porth Hotel in Llandysul.

The day will include talks, a guided tour of some of the beats, a casting clinic, a Q&A forum and then the afternoon/evening to spend as you see fit on the river totally free of charge. The free fishing will only be open to those attending the full welcome day and will cease at midnight and guest permits will be issued.

Places are limited and you need to register your intention to attend by emailing Steffan Jones at steffan@anglingworldwide.com

More information on the day to be found here: http://www.sea-trout.co.uk/showthread.php?t=879

Just over a week to go guys if you're interested. Again, you could be from the Towy or just in a neighbouring club - you are all welcome to come and see what the river and club is all about. Better than a day of diy or watching telly!

    TT.
