  • Glad to see you see back TT

    Hello

Please sicken me with the size of sea trout caught in Argentina this year.

Are there any figures on catch returns for Llandysul for 2015

    Cheers

    Thanks GD |\

LlAA 2015 catch returns; not that I'm aware of, sorry. However, will ask the question and see what I can find. Some returns are received quite late - often with membership renewals. As such, it's often a bit later before the final figure is obtained.

As for Argentina. Well, since you asked! :> It was a great trip thank you and the fishing was on great form. It was tough, but the fish were there in good numbers. Here are a couple of fish from the trip, just to get you excited for the season ahead

    TT.

Two different animals I expect, huge fish in February in Tierra Del Fuego in windswept conditions against beautiful green fields n woodland of the Teifi, both are special if you ask me,just expectations are somewhat different?

Both are special and both are, well, just different I guess. I love both and love both for what they are. I would not swap or choose one experience over the other. It is, of course, nice to be able to pursue the silver tourist during our winter, now that is a bonus

            TT.

              Omg

That fish in the first photograph is one of the most impressive I have ever seen.

Would it be possible for the angler who caught it, please post the tackle they used?

              Many thanks.

With pleasure Mick and thanks for the comments |\

The majority of those fish were on the same setup:

                Rod: Loop Cross S1 switch 11ft #7 - 5 piece travel version.
                Reel: Loop Classic 5/8
                Line: Airflo Switch

                Best wishes,

                TT.

TT.You should move this thread to the main body of the forum,so everyone can see these magnificent fish.A few of those running the Teify would soon blitz the coracles.

Will do and thanks GD |\

The Grande had to go through the painful period too. It is amazing, however, to see how things improved and the average size increased when the river finally did get properly managed:

The average weight of the sea trout on the river in the 1980s was 7.9 lbs. This increased to 11.4 lbs by 2002 due to catch and release measures, with the heaviest fish weighed over the same period increasing from 20 lbs to 29 lbs with a further 87 being caught over 20 lbs. Again, all being released (Harris & Milner p. 439).

It's a fantastic experience, of that I can assure you BB. The sea trout act the same as ours in many respects and the river is not even that much different in size to say the lower Towy. Good memories that is for sure |\

A couple of those look bigger than you TT. How close were you holding them to the camera? 😉

                            Amazing fishing - well done!
