in my experience back end fish are more willing to come to a surface lure than they are early on.
well at least the take to hook up seems to improve later on for me?
don't know if anyone else thinks the same?

      late season fish

I stop using sink tip or inter tip lines and stick to floating. Also I tend to use all my favourate patterns but in much smaller sizes,do really well with size 16long shank trebles. works for me.Dont know why the fish seem to be more likely to take in the top 12 inches of water this time of year. Just my experience

It might be just a small river thing but it has proved itself time after time for me. Try it!

Yes, very much a case of surface lures at this time of the year. Great sport. Also, you tend to find that the less flashy offerings work better at this time of the year.

A great time to be fishing and nice to be home in bed before midnight

            TT.
