what type of spinners for currane

hi does anybody know of a good spinner for lough currane im headin there on sat and want to try the spinner this time for a while because the fly is only picking up small fish
which lure would ye recommend rapalas? flying cs

Hi Zulu,

the first and only time I fished Currane was a few years ago now, but it's a cracking place and I will surely return there one day.

We were staying at the Butlers (I think that's what it was called), and we got in one night to find a very large sea-trout (certainly double figures) on the slab. It had been caught by someone trolling the lake with spinners, which was supposedly a very good method. I believe that fish was taken on a large mepps. However, I reckon that some countdown and floating rapalas would do the trick, especially if you're going to be trolling.

Hopefully someone else can shed some more light on it for you, but either way I hope that you will post a report upon your return.
