  • A few Sewin flies

Here are some flies, that i tied up for a forum member.

Things have gone mad, over the Xmas time. i had orders for 500 flies, looks like we are all getting ready early|\

Lets hope we all have a good season:@

    Singles & secret weapons.

    And tubes.

Tight lines all, for the coming season.|\

    Dai.
Any Day with a Y in it, is a good day to go fishing.

    Nice looking flies Dai. :>
I got about 20 left to tie then i'm sorted for the season. Bought a ceramic tubed bobbin holder today, hope it reduces thread snapping at the crucial moment!

I'd never want to go 'one on one' with Dia on a 'vise.' Pun intended

Nice flies Dai. The shape of the wing in the singles interests me - they are the way I tend to tie my wings for salmon flies (extra movement). Do you ever find the seatrout pulling the wing rather than hooking themselves as the wing is quite far away from the hook?

I've previously wondered about putting a secret weapon mount behind the eye, hidden in the wing, but I don't know how strong it would be and it would probably affect the movement of the wing...

Hi T7, Thanks for your comments, i have started tying most of my flies this way. called Hi-tie, started it the end of last season. and they worked fine, never had any nipping takes at all, found that i had harder take if any thing.

This is the way i tie my bass flies, and the same with the bass. don't know if they see it as a larger item to eat, and take it very hard? my thoughts. but it worked very well, and also stops any wrapping of hook. and i did not have many nights, were the sewin were taking short.

I do think, that the sewin are up for big flies. more nights then we think, last season i did have a go most nights using some very big flies. and always had fish on them, that's why this season. i will be trying the intruder flies, that give you the big profile. but the same time being light to manage when casting,

Hope you get my thoughts on the matter,

              Dai.
