  • Clear cure goo Bass fly step by step.

Hi Guys, i know this is not a Sewin fly, but seeing as there are a few on this forum who fish for bass like my self with a fly. i have used this pattern for a number of years, but this years i have been using Clear Cure Goo over the shell feather.

Place hook in vise, the hook a Nash size 2 carp hook very strong.

Catch on the tying thread, and a small dab of varnish.

Now tie on a bumb bell to flip the hook over, when fishing.

Now tie in the feelers, here i have used wild boar bristles.

Now tie in a few pearl krystal flash.

Now i tie in the eyes, these i make myself. will do a step by step on them soon.

Now i make the claws, out of grizzly feathers.

Clip off the tips off feathers.

Now i coat the feather, with Clear Cure Goo flexi.

Now tie in the feather claws, bottom view.

    Top view.

Now i tie in a chestnut brown & light green feather by the tip.

Now wind them on both together.

Now i tie in a grizzly feather at the rear.

Now it should look like this, we hope

Now i tie in a Golden pheasant neck feather for the shell, this i have coated with CCG flexi. view from top,

    View from bottom of fly.

Here is a view from the top, also the one on the right without claws. it still catches them.

    Front view.

    Under side view.

Guys try this one out, it does fish well. have had bass/ flounders on it.

Very cool, nice one Dai! |\

Similar in style to the patterns used in the salt for sea-trout too, Denmark etc.

Nice one, thanks for posting and sharing.

    Steff.
