Got my hands on the Lenser H73 a couple of weeks back after seeing twm-twm use one and being well and truly impressed with the performance. Must say, they're a top bit of kit. They're pricey, but you really do get what you pay for.

If you're in the market for a headtorch then I cannot recommend them highly enough. Just wish they did a flip down red filter or something on them. Nothing a bit of red plastic won't solve though.

Rechargeable, and last ages after charging - I have yet needed to recharge. Variable brightness and wide angle/spot function.

Top bit of kit:

Cheapest I've found them:

Or buy direct from the company listing on ebay, but more expensive if purchased directly:

Alternatively save yourself £36 because for £5 you can pick up an Energiser head torch from Tesco, has red and white light function + the light angle can be adjusted too, personally I think its great value!

Which model is that Simon? I've used the energizer for years, and they're fantastic. They're usually around £20, though. You can slide the on/off switch one way for white light and the other for red?

Very similar to the one you showed in the link - and yes right for white and left for red. Got one from Tesco about a fortnight ago and I'm pretty sure they cost £5 something because I asked the young cashier what the price was before purchasing (just because I'd purchased a similar one from Millets on sale at £5 earlier in the day)

Ive got both of them Simon ,Ive got to say theres no comparison between the two ,the energiser good value for money yes,but the lenser is a great all rounder, you dim it to tie flies in river then bright enough to follow that fish off a lifetime as its heading towards a snag.I find it great for walking back from the river at night Ive even been lamping rabbits with it.But the great thing is if it starts to fade simply plug it in and charge it up.Id never go back to the energiser.

I would have to agree. The only benefit the energizer has is the red filter. Honestly, these Lenser headlights are awesome. Twm-Twm and I had a cast and blast session 2 weeks ago, and you can quite literally lamp rabbits with them on full beam!

With the rechargeable aspect, they also become a good longterm option.
