    Thanks For Sharing

Some cracking flies there - I wish I were as clever as you on the fly tying front!

My hands are too big for all that intricate work - and I just can't get my head around tying such works of art either.

I like this one a lot; it has certain features of flies which have proved deadly.

What is the exact dressing & is there a story, or any history to the pattern?

Thanks for the comments - hope some might give one or two a chuck...

          Salmonella,

          Dressing as follows:

Hook - Size 6 long shank
          Tail - GP Crest
          Rib - Oval Silver
Rear body - Turrells peacock brite cord (bargain bucket 50p purchase)
Front body - Holo Silver tinsel
Under front body - black floss (the brite cord is bulky so this helps even the body shape under the tinsel)
          Hackle - Black cock
Wing - Black Squirrel, silver twinkle, peacock sword over.
          Eyes - JC

It lacks the red that the Welsh boys love but it was born out of wanting to recreate the Executioner in more subtle colouring - I was developing some love of the peacock qualities as well... as you might be able to tell from the fly box pic.

Anyhew - it works so have a go... the turrels can be replaced with peacock lite brite dubbing/ice dub etc or that veniards micro-brite dubbing.

          Best regards,

          Jon

If you ever get the chance to 'chase steelhead, just ...

pack you bags. You've already got the 'business end' of the fly gear locked and loaded.|\
