No, not the Spearmint Rhino sort, I mean Hansen Stripper lures. I just bought a dozen of these very cheaply but being a novice I'm not sure how to fish them. Cast across stream and retrieve like a Mepps-type spinner or some other way? Advice gratefully appreciated.

    Hi Dai,

not familiar with them, but a google image search showed them to be like a toby.

I would go with an across and slightly upstream approach with them. You could also cast across and slightly downstream, which would fish them slower - this is more of a salmon approach, but also worth trying for early season sea trout or sea trout in colder water where they will not want to move far or quickly to intercept an offering.

    Tight lines,

    TT.

Thanks for the advice, TT. It's pretty much what I'd planned to do with them and I'll give them a go for both salmon and sewin.
